JEFFREY BISHOP

RECENT PAINTINGS

October 2 - November 15, 2008

Catherine Person Gallery is proud to present recent work by Brooklyn painter Jeffrey Bishop.

The work contains enigmatic and distorted forms that fluidly intersect and float on a field

of richly saturated color. The recent work references biology, physics, cosmology – and humor.

Bishop’s work is in numerous public and private collections and been exhibited widely throughout

the United States, including exhibitions at Seattle Art Museum, Los Angeles Institute of Contemporary

Art and San Francisco Museum of Art.

Prior to moving to Brooklyn sixteen years ago Jeffrey Bishop was a long-time member of the

Seattle art scene, formerly represented by Linda Farris Gallery and Myerson & Nowinski Gallery.

Bishop has an MFA from the University of Washington. He is currently on the Board of Trustees

of Bang on the Can and Independent Curators International in NYC and on the Advisory Board of

Henry Art Gallery in Seattle.
